Casting News: Playboy

Well, rumors really. The project doesn't have a script or anything, but rumor has it that Robert Downey Jr has Hef's blessing to play the man himself. Downey's just a smidge busy at the moment doing the whole Iron Man thing.
Okay by me. I don't think Downey comes off as polished as Hef, but a shave and a smoking jacket can spruce anyone up. Plus it's really about the girls, right?
Can you think of anyone better? There were no suggestions the last time the Hef rumor came up, so post in the comments here.
Cast Highlight: Dragonball

This movie got all casted and into production before we started this news/blog thingy, but bunches of pictures were just posted over at DB The Movie including Chow Yun-Fat as Master Roshi and Justin Chatwin (Chumscrubber, War of the Worlds) as Goku. (via JoBlo )
Looks like fun. James Marsters (Buffy, Smallville), Emily Rossum (Phantom of the Opera, Poseidon), and Ernie Hudson are also in it. James Wong (Final Destination 3, The One) directs.
Of course, I'd rather see Stephen Chow direct this, but that's me.
Vote here for the cast thanks to Seifer where John Woo is in the lead to direct, and Hugh Jackman as Goku(?!?)
WTF?!? A Spiderman Musical?!?

Umm... yeah... It's entirely a go with Marvel's blessing just waiting to book a theater on Broadway sometime next year...
So with Spiderman 4 and 5 being made (2011ish), a musical awaiting a stage, and toys everywhere in stores, when will we burn out on Peter Parker?!? I'm still shocked there are more Spiderman toys than Ironman toys in stores. Go figure.
Enough already!!
Casting News: Goosebumps Mostly Ghostly

So now we know which R.L.Stine Goosebumps book will be adapted. Of course, looking at imdb, it appears the movie is in post production already and has a whole cast. So just go over there and check it out. Ali Lohan (yes, that Lohan) and Madison Pettis star along with the son of Dom Deluise, David, who happens to be the only person in the cast older than I am.
The news was supposed to be that Sterling Beaumon (who will be 13 years old next week) was added to the cast as Max, but oh well.
Casting News: Public Enemies

Michael Mann's new film Public Enemies about John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) has added James Russo to the cast as fellow bank robber Walter Deitrich.
Russo is sort of an Italiany Hey It's That Guy with about 100 movie parts (Donnie Brasco, Redemption), and a couple handfuls of tv appearances (CSI, Miami Vice), but nothing terribly memorable. Perhaps working next to Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Billy Crudup, and Marion Cotillard will put him on the radar.
