No, not the fun kind. This is a non-fiction book by Stanley Alpert about his experience being kidnapped the day before his birthday and held at gunpoint for 25 hours. The kidnappers took his money, ATM, PIN, anything and everything of value to them. Yet, he survived.
UA has the rights to the book and just gave Charles Randolph (The Interpreter, The Life of David Gale) the job of adapting it for film. Good luck, Chuck!
So who would you like to see blindfolded and bound for 25 hours onscreen?

No, not a movie, but a television series exec produced by Sam Raimi (Spiderman 3, Evil Dead)! He's had lots of tv experience on Xena, Hercules, and M.A.N.T.I.S. so it's in good hands. Disney/ABC is putting up the cash for the hour-long series which begins production in New Zealand this month.
Yes, any excuse to post a M.A.N.T.I.S. pic.
Anyhow, the news about Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule is... it now has lead actors. Aussie Craig Horner will play Richard Cypher, and tv native Bridget Regan will play Khalan.
And we have a cast for it here thanks to pcornwell who was way ahead of Raimi and posted over three years ago!

Already in production (due out Oct 2009), this film is an adaptation of Alice Sebold's best selling novel of the same title. Peter Jackson and company wrote the screenplay and Jackson's directing. It's an intense story and I'm not sure I'll be able to read the novel or see the movie, but I'm sure many of you will.
We have a cast for it here thanks to superstarjpp back in 2005.
Cinematical has an excellent writeup of the book and how the author thinks the adaptation process might go for such a difficult thing including his thoughts on the casting choices:
The casting makes me cringe a little, but I'm inclined to trust Jackson's judgment. Saoirse Ronan, fresh off her Atonement Oscar nomination, seems like an almost too on-the-nose choice for Susie. Days before filming was to start, Ryan Gosling stepped out of the Jack Salmon role over concerns about the character's age (late-30's to late-40's, over the course of the novel) versus the actor's (28); Mark Wahlberg replaced him. Rachel Weisz plays Abigail, Jack's wife. Both seem a bit too attractive for their emphatically average-suburban-Joe roles, but that's Hollywood. (I had thought of David Strathairn for Mr. Salmon, but that may also have been too on-the-nose.) I can't even imagine what Susan Sarandon will do with the role of the hard-drinking, make-up-obsessed Grandma Lynn. On the other hand, Anna George is a great choice for the alluring Ruana Singh, and I have absolutely no quibbles with the casting of Stanley Tucci as Susie's brooding, solitary murderer. It's a change of pace for Tucci, but he should have no trouble.
It's an interesting read for us movie buffs.
