Ubik by Philip K Dick has been optioned by Celluloid Dreams.
Ubik is set in an alternate version of 1992 where people can travel to the moon and parapsychology is accepted as real. Since telepaths can walk around reading people's minds and learning secrets, there's a company run by Glen Runciter that helps fix this by employing folks who can block telepaths. Along with protag Joe Chip, they head to the moon for a client, but things, well, they blow up.
Dear John by Nicholas "The Notebook" Sparks which has Channing Tatum starring as a soldier returning home to fall for a conservative college student (is there such a thing?)
Spin by Robert Charles Wilson recently optioned by Olympus Pictures.
The Swedish Cavalier by Leo Perutz which Christophe Gans just back-burnered Onimusha to make.
The Informant by Kurt Eichenwald (which already has Matt Damon and Candy Clark attached as mother and son). Actually nevermind this one. Imdb has a fleshed out cast already.
The Stain in the Snow by Georges Simenon which just got David MacKenzie to direct.
You've got your work cut out for you! Chop chop!

So, the Green Arrow movie (which none of you had a cast for, shame shame) is now Supermax, a movie about a super maximum security prison for super villains. Apparently the script has Green Arrow wrongfully imprisoned there where he has to team up with villains including those he's personally caught, to escape. To me, it sounds like a wicked awesome premise.

Anyhow, the villains listed are Penotti, Split, Lex Luthor, the Joker, the Riddler, Shock Trauma, Gemini, Icicle, Floronic Man, Count Vertigo, Calculator, Blockbuster, Iron Cross, Heatmonger, Backlash, Pied Piper, Merlin, Djinn, Tattooed Man, Multiplex, and Cascade.
Now, most of those will likely be cameos, but you can bet the Aryan Nation will be a factor in a prison movie (but then Schillinger is now Jonah Jameson... odd world this is).
Check out the story on Latinoreview for a villains gallery and more script details. (via Cinematical )

Apparently a film version of the 1993 religion/government debacle is in the works. If you'll remember a nutty dude named David Koresh lived in a compound with his followers in Waco, Texas. Then when the ATF came a knockin' looking for weapons, the Branch Davidians barred themselves in.
This was the result:

81 people dead (4 ATF agents, Koresh and his 76 groupies).
I'm sure it will make for a cheery film!
But really the burning question is... who plays Janet Reno?
